The Ethiopian Ministry of Finance has reissued a tender under the country's public-private partnership (PPP) scheme to develop an integrated diagnostic center.
"The Ministry of Finance PPP-D intends to pre-qualify prospective bidders with the requisite experience. expertise, and financial resources to rapidly deliver the Integrated Diagnostic Center (IDC via PPP modality," said a Ministry statement.
The project will see a private developer partner with the government to build and run diagnostic facilities like labs and imaging equipment at St. Peter's Specialized Hospital in Addis Ababa.
The initial bidding round failed to find any companies that met the qualification requirements. As per PPP policy, those bids were cancelled.
Now firms can register and purchase bidding documents costing 5500 birr until November 13th. Previous participants need only pay 500 birr.
Only shortlisted applicants will receive the full proposal papers. Bidders can take part individually or in consortia.
Bidders may participate in the prequalification process severally or in consortia. International bidders are encouraged to participate in consortia with local private partners, according to the Ministry.
The Ministry hopes the new tender will attract a capable private sector partner to establish this important diagnostic center through an innovative public-private model.
