At 07:39 GMT on Friday, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 123.80/124.00 per dollar, compared to 123.70/90 on Thursday.
Refinitiv data showed that the shilling reached a new all-time low of 124.00/20 per dollar at the start of Friday's session, before recovering some of its losses.
