Awash Insurance reports a 270 million Br profit during the last fiscal year, according to its audit report released last Saturday.
The 43 percent jump in its gross written helped the insurer to register a remarkable profit in the reporting period, its executives said.
The firm managed to witness a profit upsurge, despite the impacts of COVID-19 and the war in the North in its operations.
With a paid-up capital of 755 million Br, it is the most capitalised private insurance firm in Ethiopia, where there are 17 private and one state insurers.
Awash is also the private insurer to pass the one billion Br mark in gross written premium.
