Ethiopia exported almost a quarter of a billion dollar worth of coffee in the last two months. Achieving 141 percent of the target, it is a record-high performance in the history of the country, where over a third of its export proceeds coming from coffee.
The drought in Brazil have helped the country to register such a performance, while the adoption of vertical integration among exporters have had its own contribution. Germany (25 percent), Saudi Arabia (14 percent) and the United States (10 percent) are the top three destinations of Ethiopia's coffee.
