Mesfin Tassew is the new chief executive officer of the Ethiopian Airlines, the leading aviation company in Africa.
Replacing Tewolde Gebremariam, who was leading Ethiopian for the last 11 years, Mesfin has been the managing director of Asky Airlines, where Ethiopian is a major shareholder, since May 2021.
Mesfin will be tasked to lead over 17,000 employees of the Airlines, which has over 132 aircrafts with annual revenues of four billion dollars.
In a press briefing held today, Girma Wake, who was appointed as a chairperson of Ethiopian, announced the appointment of Mesfin is approved by the Board.
