The Embassy of United States in Ethiopia says it has resumed processing all categories of immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, including Diversity Visas (DV), in accordance with the priorities set out by the Department of State.
"We appreciate your patience as there are significant backlogs globally in most visa categories, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants will receive information via email when it is time to schedule an appointment," the Embassy said.
It was last year that the Embassy stopped issuing visas after the war in North Ethiopia intensified and the Tigray People Liberation Front advances to the capital. The resumption of VISA services comes as Ethiopia shows commitment to end the war in North Ethiopia, a situation that would help Ethiopia to normalize its relationship with the US.
